Exercise of the Month: Cycling

The fact that it’s winter does not mean staying indoors with the family. Go dust of those bicycles in the garage and get peddling. Not only is it a fun family activity, but cycling for 30 min can burn around 350 calories, even more depending on how hard you peddle and the surface you’re on. For safety, stay off busy routes, rather cycle to your local park. Make it a family outing, pack a picnic basket and drive out to your nearest nature reserve. Most of them host monthly events and has marked out routes with various distances and difficulty levels to choose from. Best part about cycling is that it’s for all ages. If you don’t own a bicycle, you can always invest in one or hit your local gym for a session on a stationary bike. Safe peddling!
