Tomatoes can be one of the most effective remedies for a clear and clean skin. Not only are tomatoes full of nutrients but also highly effective in healing and clarifying the skin.
While they are slightly acidic, tomatoes contain high contents of potassium and vitamin C, which transforms the dullest of skins and restores glow to the skin. This makes tomato a versatile and popular ingredient for problematic skin conditions.
Tomato Sugar Scrub: Blend two whole lemons with peels along with two cubes of ice, 20 mint leaves, and 2 tomatoes in a blender. Now take five tablespoons of sugar and mix well, use this to scrub onto the face, neck and hands until the sugar granules have melted. This power packed tomato sugar scrub can be used to exfoliate, cleanse, and nourish the skin naturally. Rub all over the skin and leave on for five minutes before you wash off, use it twice a week for best results.
Garlic has antimicrobial properties that help kill germs and bacteria, which are responsible for causing damage to the scalp, further inhibiting hair growth. Raw garlic is known to be rich in vitamin C content that is great for promoting hair-health. It also boosts collagen production which helps stimulate hair growth. The presence of selenium in garlic helps boost blood circulation for maximum nourishment. It also helps cleanse hair follicles, strengthens them and prevents clogging, further curbing hair loss. Add minced garlic and honey in a bowl and mix them well. Apply this paste on your hair and scalp and leave it for about 30 minutes or more. Rinse it well with running water. Another excellent method is mixing the minced garlic with mildly warm coconut oil. Massage the mixture into the scalp and hair and leave it for about 30 minutes before washing it off.
Rose water is flavoured, aromatic water which is prepared by soaking rose petals in water. Not only is it immensely soothing on the skin, but also provides our eyes with a lot of benefits. If you have bought the roses from a store, make sure you have washed them about 5-6 times. You don’t want any residue formation on them, take one fourth cup of dried or half cup fresh rose petals in a sauce pan and pour one and a half cup of water in it. Cover the saucepan with a lid and bring the water to a boil. Once the water boils, lower the flame and allow the water to simmer and soak up the colour and essence of the rose petals. Ensure that the colour on the petals have faded or become colourless. This process should take about five minutes. Now, let the water cool completely. Use a sieve to remove the rose petals and store the water in the container. Once it is cooled down completely, put it in the refrigerator for about one week before you start using.
Rose water is great for lightening stubborn dark circles. Take a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of cold milk and 2 tablespoons of cold rose water in it. Dab the cotton ball into the mixture and leave it for about 20-25 minutes. Apply the mixture under your eyes and allow it to stay for some time. Rinse off with cold water and repeat the procedure daily for effective results.
